about
This is week 1 of my weekly song project.
Sometimes people are real jerks about stuff, and it's frustrating when they want you to join their pity party. Due to me really overdoing some of the stereo width stuff, this might sound a little strange in mono. A listening environment that's in stereo is recommended.
lyrics
You said that you never really gave a damn about the girl
And you know that was obvious enough to all of us
You said you only acted like you did because you felt you were supposed to
Like you were a victim of society's expectations
You said that you never really gave a damn about the girl
And you know that was obvious enough to all of us
So why did you make her think that you did
Through a 4 year on again off again relationship
You said you never really gave a damn about the girl
She never had you in a spot where you were vulnerable
The part that I guess I don't completely understand is how that
makes you the victim and her into the villain like
If she's such mean mean girl who
tore down your whole whole world
but you never really felt for her you just pretended
how does that work
It seems like you should be bouncing back and doing fine
But you're still sleeping on a couch and drinking fortified wine
you're still complaining about her all the time
But she's moved on and you're still a mess dude
And don't come around to my place
With that ridiculously big case
Of domestic beer
Come on you're acting like a jerk you better find
somebody else's sympathetic ear
Can we stop pretending
This has anything
to do with your ex
The way you're acting
It's a reason not a
Consequence of why she left
You said that you never really gave a damn about the girl
And you know it was obvious enough to all of us
The you'd talk about her when she wasn't around
Was just disgusting
You say that we're friends and that we should support you
Yeah we shouldn't be taking sides
What you've got to realize, there's not really sides
Just the truth and the things you're telling yourself
It seems like you should be bouncing back and doing fine
But you're still sleeping on a couch and drinking fortified wine
you're still complaining about her all the time
But she's moved on and you're still a mess dude
