about
Week 2 of my weekly song project.
When I heard about the Conservative party printing flyers lauding their support for disabled veterans but which had fake braille printed on them, I knew I had to write a song about it. It's so deeply symbolic of everything that's wrong with politics in Canada.
lyrics
You can talk about the blind leading the blind
But tell me who's printing out the fake Braille flyers
It's so perfect it's a sham within a sham
The symmetry between the big and little lies
So comfortable, they nest like Russian dolls
Like carbon dioxide, safe inside a cavern of salt
We'll all sing sweet lullabies of job creation
As they spend our money telling us to vote for them
Sweet lullabies of job creation
In praise of Canada's Economic Action Plan
And they'll talk about the love our people share
For the land but what they mean is for the resources
Or the money that comes from the resources
But love of the land is inconvenient
You can call me a sore loser if you like
But what about when the seas and rivers rise?
You can talk about the blind leading the blind
But tell me who's printing out the fake Braille flyers
