But I feel like people think I'm an ass
I talk too much I've got opinions about
everything

But these kids are all so crass
They say cruel things
Package it as received wisdom

So I'll fume I'll fume I'll fume I'll fume
Build it up inside until it goes boom
And when it comes out I'm too flustered to string words together
Volatile like southern Alberta weather

I wanna get my feelings out
I just wanna talk and shout
say I'm original, I'm smart
and My thoughts matter

But the impulse is too raw
The thoughts are without thought
And the environment is one where I can't thrive or think at all

So I'll fume I'll fume I'll fume I'll fume
Build it up inside until it goes boom
And when it comes out I'm too flustered to string words together
I'll become as cruel and thoughtless as the weather

To temper takes more than fire
it takes patience and a long, long time
and a skill not often seen in these institutions
